My family and I enjoyed a great meal here on NYE. The family style portions are generous! The chopped salad is a must. Everything was fresh. The staff were super attentive. We'll be back!
I recommend the chicken parm chicken/veal Sorrentino, Cesar salad and appetizer -baked clams. Friday & Saturday nights are crowded.. no reservations.. for less than 4 patrons.. wait staff is attentive to your requests and for the most part personable.. I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and I haven't been disappointed.
Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Excellent experience! For food I had the red snapper francaise, the chicken parm, and penne Pasta with tomato sauce. The snapper was even better the next day upon reheating. The sauce was perfect as far as consistency and taste! The chicken parm seemed to be a baked cutlet which was great and IMO a much healthier way to eat it. The penne was standard. The espresso martini was delicious and they give you the option to have it with Baileys! 2 thumbs up, would certainly return to try other dishes
We came back with two other couples, some shared the family style large orders, but not my wife and me. She had plain broiled salmon and steamed broccoli (due to her diet), but enjoyed it. I loved the veal bolognese over ziti and didn't even leave a drop of sauce on my large plate! Everyone enjoyed their food, we were lucky enough to get Alexander back as our waiter, and the price was right.
Recently went to SPB In Syosset, first time there, nice size restaurant, very friendly staff, service was excellent. Appetizers Fried zucchini, fried calamari, and grilled octopus. The fried zucchini had a light golden batter coating, as well as the fried calamari, nice crunch. The grilled octopus's, had a nice light char, season perfectly, buttery soft, delicious. Main courses The Chicken Scarpariello, was outstanding, cooked perfect came right off the bone, very flavorful. The Linguine seafood Diavlo, nice portion, linguine cooked aldente perfectly, abundant amount of seafood, Diavlo not overpowering. The Bronzino was the typical size portion, fresh tasting, perfectly seasoned. Highly recommended SPB.
Great authentic Italian restaurant, dishes can be made either family style or individual. However, the service was very slow when we went. We ordered two rounds of appetizers (baked calms, fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms, grilled octopus, fried mozzarella) all was amazing. Our entrees took over two hours to come out although they were delicious waiting was EXTREMELY annoying. There was no physical dessert menu which was disappointing too but overall it was great minus the long wait.
Best Italian food period !! Great service ,Great staff 25 + years I've been going there. Always consistent ! Never ever a bad experience.
Iconic. Food: top notch. Service: top notch ambiance: classic. I think I ate enough for a week. My favorite of ALL the dishes served? Rigatoni Bolognese and Chopped Salad. Go. Here.
